Part One
Molekyl Gallery, Malmö
11 March – 10 April 2022

Site-specific mixed media installation.

Part One in Molekyl Gallery was our first collaborative exhibition. It took shape during one week of working in the gallery space. A mixed media video installation created in Helsinki was the starting point for this process in Malmö. The intention of this exhibition was to have an open visual conversation in the room and let art communicate with art. In a circular way one gesture led to another as layer upon layer was built up or reduced. Different ways of working connected as we examined how to relate to the room and each other’s suggestions with openness and sensitivity. The collective process and the shared space with its particular qualities were integral parts of the installation.

We used simple materials and left the technical solutions visible. The natural light in the gallery changed according to the time of the day. Elements from outside structures were brought inside. These shadows and lights caused shifts in the installation. Questions and the unexpected appeared in the interplay between the space, the light, the artistic elements and the viewer. The installation in Molekyl Gallery was created on site.
